Gyproc partitions help cut costs at Aldara

High performance Gyproc partitions and linings have helped to cut costs and provide higher performance for a new Hospital and Medical Centre in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh.

Although the Aldara Hospital project was originally specified with blockwork partitions throughout, Gyproc’s engineering and technical team was able to draw up a complete specification based on lightweight Gyproc systems and added value linings that provide equal or improved performance in every area, whilst providing major benefits in speed and working practice, weight and installed costs.

Valued in excess of SAR 10 million, the package incorporates a full range of systems from basic dot & dab drylining to Gypwall CLASSIC partitions, twin frame Gypwall QUIET acoustic systems for noise sensitive applications and Gyproc’s market leading Shaftwall system to provide additional fire protection for lift shafts and other areas with single side limited access.

To meet the client’s requirements for high performance robust linings that will provide protection against day-to-day surface knocks and scrapes, and the highest level of fire protection for both patients and building, Gyproc DuraLine impact resistant plasterboard and high performance Gyproc FireStop plasterboard are being used predominantly for wall linings throughout the centre.

All of the systems used have the added benefit of Gyproc’s stringent site and laboratory testing regime, so offer guaranteed levels of performance to meet the client’s requirements, as well as Gyproc’s unique SpecSure® performance warranty.

The Gyproc technical team is providing continuous support throughout the project, both on-site and via the company’s customer support centre, helping to ensure that systems can be correctly installed and detailed for optimum performance and speed.

When completed and operational later this year, the new Aldara Hospital and Medical Centre will provide the most technically-advanced and patient-focussed in-patient hospital and outpatient facility in Riyadh.
