Lightweight building systems showcased at Qatar exhibition
Visitors to Gyproc’s stand at the 3rd Qatar Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference, at the Doha Exhibition Centre from 14-16th November, saw on display how the company’s market leading lightweight wall, ceiling and partition systems which are helping to improve safety and reduce costs for developments throughout the Middle East.
Top decision makers from the education, safety, commercial and construction sectors were present to see the many benefits of lightweight construction through the experience of major local projects where the company’s systems have already been installed.
Projects showcased on the stand, included Ikea’s newest and largest UAE store at Yas Island, where Gyproc systems were used to ensure 120-minutes fire performance and 60 RwdB sound performance for 10-metre high internal walls: and the Capital Gate Tower in Abu Dhabi where bespoke Gyproc partitions and ShaftWall were used to create unique ‘stepped’ partitions for the iconic 160-metre inclined tower.
Gyproc’s plasterboard-based systems, now available locally from the company’s manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi, provide outstanding performance in all of the key areas, including fire, acoustics, thermal, and moisture and impact resistance.
Experts were available on hand to explain to visitors why, combined with speed of installation, flexibility and cost benefits, they are now providing a natural and sustainable replacement for old traditional building methods in many of today’s buildings.
