New Sales Manager for Qatar

Plasterboard systems manufacturer, Gyproc Middle East, has appointed Salah Hankir as its new Sales Manager for Qatar, reaffirming its support for customers in the country and underlining its commitment to further develop sales of drywall systems in the rapidly growing market, recently ranked first amongst the world’s richest countries.

Salah has a BA degree in Marketing from Lebanon’s Hariri Canadian University, has spent the past 4 years in Qatar, managing sales teams for some of the country’s leading construction product manufacturers and contractors, and is well known and respected in the industry.

He has built up an in-depth technical knowledge of high performance glazing and structural systems during his time with Alumco International and Emirates Glass, and was latterly Sales Manager for Alumana Industries, responsible for all three of the company’s aluminum, glass and stainless steel factories.

Gyproc’s Sales Manager, Karim Amrouche, welcomed Salah to the company’s large and growing sales and technical team in the Middle East. “Qatar is a key market for Gyproc lightweight systems, which provide the high levels of performance needed whilst enabling buildings to be constructed faster and more cost efficiently. Salah’s excellent knowledge of the local market and strong technical knowledge of building systems is a great fit for us, and will be invaluable in helping us to support and develop sales in the region.”

Salah, who is based in Qatar, is already working alongside leading Qatari contractors and architects on a number of major projects, including the country’s iconic new leisure destination, Doha Festival City, and the new Arab Research Centre, both of which rely heavily on Gyproc systems to meet demanding fire and acoustic standards.
