Oasis Hospital

Oasis Hospital has been serving the residents of the Eastern Region and beyond since 1960 at the invitation of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The new facility is being constructed to improve the services and include speciality clinics.

The following Gyproc systems were specified and used in the project:

•  High performance Gyproc ShaftWall systems, which are easily constructed from one side, were used to achieve the fire and high acoustic ratings for this project.
• GypLyner UNIVERSAL was the perfect solution to increase the acoustic performance of the block work as well as provide a small cavity in which services could easily be routed without having to chase and repair the block. This solution also provided a flat, smooth and crack free surface for direct decoration.
• Gyproc technical team worked with the consultant and contractor to develop a hybrid GypWall CLASSIC partition using high impact resistant Gyproc DuraLine boards with additional metal security mesh sandwiched between the two layers of board for extra high security.

Challenges

• Risers throughout the building required very high acoustic ratings.
• Where block work was specified, the acoustic performance needed to be increased to meet the architectural specification.
• High security was required for cash counter and pharmacy walls.

Outcome

Collaborative working with all parties ensured any site issues were resolved promptly and efficiently and a high level of training hours minimised many typical site problems. A SpecSure Warranty was also issued to guarantee the performance of Gyproc solutions in line with installation guidelines.
