Saint-Gobain Gyproc hosts drylining system seminars across the Middle East

Saint-Gobain Gyproc hosted a series of seminars across the Middle East highlighting the distinct advantages offered by switching to drylining wall and ceiling systems from blockwork.

Prominent consultants, architects and project engineers were shown the varied savings and performance improvements that can be achieved by using Gyproc’s drylining systems – comprising of Gyproc plasterboards, Gypframe metal components and Gyproc accessories, such as jointing compound, tapes and screws.

Jason Hird, Techincal Manager for Gyproc said, “Through independent case studies we have been able to demonstrate a complete project saving of over 30% when compared with lightweight blockwork construction. Combine this with a 65% quicker build programme and additional improvements in acoustics and reduced dead load, drylining systems really are a viable option for Middle East construction.”

Savings in site logistics, namely site storage of materials, fork lift usage and reduced waste were also shared. For the bottom line additional revenue can be gained from increased saleable or leasable floor space.

During the events, the load bearing capacity of a drylining wall partition was also road-tested using the mobile display unit as guests were invited to test out the wall mounted W.C.! Although initially apprehensive a volunteer was eventually forthcoming.

The Abu Dhabi based plasterboard manufacturer took the opportunity to launch their newest initiative for the Middle East - the SpecSure® performance warranty.

“We are confident that our, Gyproc drylining systems will perform to the published parameters we provide. To prove this we now warrant complete Gyproc wall and ceiling partitions,” announced Mark Rapley, Sales Director.

The SpecSure® system warranty is supported by a wealth of knowledge, from Saint-Gobain’s long heritage in the construction sector, which dates back to 1665, and more locally with the sales and technical personnel. The local team can assist at the design stage and throughout the build with on-site support.
