Style and sophistication by Gyproc
Gyproc Middle East has announced continuing success in the region’s burgeoning hospitality sector, with news of an estimated AED 6 million order for a further ground-breaking 5-star hotel in JLT.

Centred on sophistication and the good things in life, the new Vivanta by Taj Hotel also known as Signature Tower, in the city’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers District, is a Middle East first, being developed for India’s Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces, in collaboration with Chaudhary Group and Signature Real Estate.
The 207-key hotel and residential tower designed by Arch Group Consultants is being constructed over 45 floors, with 4 additional basement floors and 2 mechanical floors. It is rated in the 5-star Upper Upscale segment and offers travellers a unique combination of style and sophistication.
To create the quiet and relaxing internal environment expected by guests, and meet the tight build schedule, Al Shafar General Contracting Co. LLC (ASGC) has awarded Plafond, one of the UAE’s market leading multi-disciplinary Fit Out, MEP and Maintenance contractor, who has selected Gyproc’s lightweight modular systems for the construction of internal partitions. Those systems combine high strength with outstanding fire and acoustic performance and have the benefit that they can be engineered to meet different performance standards for different areas of the structure. In addition, these offer a completely dry construction technique, so they can be installed faster and more efficiently than traditional blockwork alternatives.
As performance is achieved at lesser thickness than blockwork, the developers will be able to maximise valuable room space for guests, and the light weight and handleability of system components will allow contractor, Plafond, to work more safely in the space-limited areas of the multi-level structure.
The new hotel is due to open is doors to guests in late 2018.
