Case Study

23 MARINA DUBAI

Architect
KEO Consultants
Client
Hircon International

One of the tallest buildings in the Dubai Marina area offering over 90 floors of residential accommodation and services.

To meet the acoustic requirements, a double boarded solution was required (to both sides), however we were able to engineer a single boarded solution using the Gyproc DuraLine board with insulation in the cavity, providing the customer with a cost effective system solution.

Challenges

In a bid to save weight and reduce load, we were able to offer a lightweight solution that would:

  • Speed up installation.
  • Improve site cleanliness and material storage.
  • Facilitate and improve installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP).
  • Ultimately give a better overall finish.

Outcome

By working closely with both KEO Consultants and Dubai Civil Engineering, our team of Gyproc Technical Consultants were able to re-design the partitions giving a finished weight of only 24kg/m2 that also provided a highly impact resistant finish, meeting both the fire and acoustic requirements for the project.
