The Address Residences Jumeirah Resort provides an exotic blend of architectural elegance within a natural beach-side lifestyle in the heart of the city. The iconic 75 story marvel consists of 2 interconnected hotel and residential towers offering 187 keys located at the end of Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai. The hotel and serviced residences, spanning over an area of 19,690 m2, will be housed in one tower, and the apartments in the other with a common podium. The landscape is broken down into terraces of greenery, outdoor lounges, restaurants, and pools that cascade into each other. Separate pools have been designed for adults and children with some of them dedicated to hotel guests and others for residents.

Challenges

  • To produce and deliver an impact resistant plasterboard ‘Duraline’ with two SG technologies ‘Activ’Air’ & ‘M2TECH’ for more than 120,000sqm in a short timeframe.
  • The client had a very tight gypsum budget which had to be achieved with our partners ‘Depa & International Décor’ incorporating the high Gyproc VAB & systems specified. This made it a very challenging securing process requiring more than 10 techno-commercial meetings with the project parties during the tendering phase.
  • Site required major technical support and training for over 500 installers on site during peak periods. In addition to site training we provided support with drawing reviews, engineering judgements, bespoke details development requiring additional man hours.

Outcome

  • Good understanding and cooperation within Gyproc operations to produce a huge volume of a 3 in 1 plasterboard (Duraline Activ’Air M2TECH) within a short period.
  • Exceptional level of pro-activeness and coordination with all project parties to ensure the securing process of such high Gyproc specification value within a tight client budget.
  • Performance beyond regulatory requirement for Gyproc technical team in investing more than 60 hours of site support visits and reviewing more than 300 drawings from our partners.
